The Evolution of an Asian Fusion Garden

This Asian style garden was created with mostly native plants and a few exotics for landscape punctuation. The native plants blend appropriately with the surrounding environment, support local insect and bird populations, and thrive in our climate. These photos were taken over three years to show how a garden changes and weaves together. Included in this garden are swashes of Lowbush Blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium), along with Sweetfern (Comptonia peregrina), Mountain Witch-alder (Fothergilla), Carolina Allspice (Calycanthus floridus), Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata) and Mountain Lover (Paxistima canbyi).
