Aconitum uncinatum

Picture

Wild Monkshood

This member of the buttercup family has showy purplish-blue flowers produced along lax stems that weave their way through surrounding vegetation for support. There is a endangered relative from the Catskill Mountains (A. noveboracense) that we occasionally propagate, but it is currently unavailable. This species is very similar but hails from more southern locations.
