Great Laurel or Rosebay Rhododendron, Rhododendron maximum,
extends the spring blooming season for rhododendrons into early
summer and it even blooms well in fairly deep shade. While it
tends to be found growing in moist to boggy conditions in the
Catskills, it adapts readily to general garden conditions.
