The penstemons are a uniquely North American group of plants. Their greatest diversity occurs throughout the western part of the continent, but there are a number of suitable garden subjects native to the Catskills, including this one Hairy Beardtongue, Penstemon hirsutus.

The links found under the general headings listed above are an eclectic mix of websites we’ve come across in our browsing. They are not meant to be an exhaustive list of all possible links. When we started this site a few years ago, people were probably less skilled in browsing the web and finding information than they are today.
