Round-lobed Hepatica
Hepatica nobilis var obtusa
One of our earlier spring wildflowers, usually in
bloom by the end of April. These are diminutive, ground-hugging plants,
with flowers that are most often a showy blue-violet, but can also be
shades of pink or white. On most plants the leaves are attractively
mottled in green and burgundy. Use in the woodland garden with
Christmas Fern, Dutchman’s Breeches, Rue-Anemone, Trillium, Wild
Geranium and Toothwort.
